Terms of service

The agreement between you and Norva when you use the Norva website, web app or mobile apps.
The short version
- Free in beta
- No card, no payment details. If paid plans come, you’ll hear at least 30 days before, and nothing is charged automatically.
- Your content
- Stays yours. You let us use it only to run Norva for you.
- Your coach’s work
- Workouts a coach publishes to you are yours to train, even after coaching ends.
- Train with care
- Norva isn’t medical advice. Check a number before you put it on the bar.
- Leave any time
- Delete your account in the app. It’s gone at once.
Only the full terms below are binding.
Who we are
Norva is run by Roman Agarkov, Berliner Allee 223, 13088 Berlin, Germany (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@norva.fit. These terms are a contract between you and us, for the Norva website, web app and mobile apps.
Who can use Norva
- You must be 16 or older.
- An account is for one person. Keep your details accurate, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- If you coach for money or as part of your business, you use Norva as a business, and the For coaches section applies as well. Where these terms give consumers a right, it applies to you only when you use Norva privately.
The beta
Norva is in beta. That means:
- It’s free while in beta. We don’t ask for payment details.
- It changes often. Features get added, changed and sometimes removed, and there will be bugs. We fix what we can quickly, but we can’t promise that Norva is always available or free of errors.
- If we introduce paid plans, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before. Nothing is charged automatically: you decide whether to subscribe. Athletes don’t pay for Norva.
- We change Norva only for a good reason, such as new features, security, the law, or a feature that isn’t working out, and never at a cost to you. If a change makes Norva significantly worse for you, we tell you in advance, and as a consumer you can then end the contract free of charge within 30 days.
Your account
- You sign up with your email address and a password, or with Google or Apple.
- You can delete your account whenever you like (see Ending the contract).
How the contract is made
You make the contract with us when you create an account at app.norva.fit or in the mobile app. Until you choose “Create account”, or sign up with Google or Apple, you can correct anything you entered. We don’t store a copy of the contract for you; the current terms are always at norva.fit/terms, where you can save or print them. The contract is in English.
How coaching works
- Norva is a tool for coaches and their athletes. Coaching starts when an athlete accepts a coach’s invite, and either of them can end it at any time.
- We aren’t part of the agreement between a coach and an athlete. What they train, what it costs and what they promise each other is between them. Payments between coaches and athletes happen outside Norva.
- A coach is responsible for their programming, and for having the qualifications and insurance their work needs.
- Athletes decide what they log. What a coach can see of it is listed in the privacy policy.
- When coaching ends, the coach loses access to the athlete’s training and to their conversation. Unscored workouts for today or later leave the athlete’s plan; everything already done stays with the athlete.
Health and safety
Training carries risk.
- Norva isn’t medical advice and isn’t a medical device. It doesn’t judge whether a workout suits you, and we don’t check what coaches write.
- See a doctor before you start training hard, after a long break, or if you have a health condition. If something feels wrong during training, stop.
- Loads that Norva works out from percentages, like “80% Back Squat”, are only as good as the records behind them. Check a number before you put it on the bar.
This is information, not a waiver. Nothing here limits our liability for harm to life, body or health (see Liability).
Your content
“Content” is anything you put into Norva: workouts and programs, scores, notes, messages, photos and videos.
- Your content stays yours.
- You give us a non-exclusive, free license to use it only to run Norva for you, for as long as it’s stored in Norva: to store it and back it up; to compress videos and resize images; to show it to the people you share it with; and to process it through our providers, including Anthropic when a coach uses Paste from notes.
- When a coach publishes a workout to an athlete, the athlete may keep it and train it for their own use, without a time limit, even after coaching ends or the coach deletes their account. Athletes may not share, publish or sell a coach’s programs.
- What an athlete shares with their coach, such as scores, notes and messages, the coach may view and comment on in Norva while coaching them.
- If either person in a conversation deletes their account, the conversation is deleted for both.
- If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely.
- Norva itself, meaning the apps, their design and the exercise library, belongs to us. The movement demos are other people’s videos on YouTube, played with YouTube’s player under YouTube’s terms; they belong to their creators.
Paste from notes
Paste from notes, for coaches on the web, sends the text you paste to a language model from Anthropic and turns it into draft workouts. It can misread things, so everything it makes lands as a draft: check each workout before you publish it. There’s a daily limit on how often you can use it. Paste only the training, with no health details or contact details about your athletes.
Content rules
We don’t tolerate abuse or objectionable content. Don’t use Norva to:
- post anything illegal, or threaten, harass or demean anyone;
- share other people’s private information without their permission;
- upload content you don’t have the rights to, such as someone else’s paid program;
- send spam or advertising nobody asked for;
- spread malware, probe or overload our systems, or scrape Norva;
- pretend to be someone else.
Reports and moderation
- In the app, open a message’s menu and choose “Report”.
- Anyone, with or without an account, can report content by email to support@norva.fit. Say where the content is, why you think it’s illegal, your name and email address, and that you’re reporting in good faith and believe your report is accurate and complete.
- A person reviews every report.
- We don’t use automated moderation, apart from a word filter that flags messages with common English swear words for a person to look at. It doesn’t block or remove anything.
- If content breaks the law or these terms, we may remove it, limit features, or suspend or close the account. We tell the person affected what we did and why, and how to challenge it: by replying to us, or in court.
- If content suggests a threat to someone’s life or safety, we tell the authorities.
- People in Norva can only talk inside a coaching relationship. To stop contact with someone, end it (see How coaching works).
Availability and your copies
We work to keep Norva running and your data safe, but while it’s in beta we can’t promise it will always be available. Keep your own copy of programs that matter to you. Ask us at support@norva.fit and we’ll send you a copy of your data.
Price and withdrawal
Norva is free while in beta (see The beta).
If you’re a consumer, you can withdraw from this contract within 14 days of signing up, without giving a reason. Tell us, for example by email to support@norva.fit, or simply delete your account. Withdrawing costs nothing. [Lawyer’s wording: the statutory notice and form, or a voluntary right]
Ending the contract
- You can end it at any time by deleting your account: on the web under Account › Delete account, in the mobile app under Profile › Delete account. Deletion is immediate and can’t be undone; see what’s deleted and what stays.
- We can end it with 30 days’ notice, for example if the beta or Norva itself ends. We’ll give you time to get a copy of your data first.
- We can end it immediately for a serious breach of these terms, and we’ll tell you why.
Liability
- We’re liable without limit for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for harm to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and where we’ve given a guarantee.
- For slight negligence, we’re liable only if we breach an essential obligation, one that makes this contract possible in the first place and that you can rely on, and then only for the damage typical and foreseeable for a contract like this.
- Beyond that, we aren’t liable for slight negligence.
- These limits also apply to the people who work for us.
Changes to these terms
We tell you about changes at least 30 days before they take effect, by email or in the app. If a change significantly affects your rights or obligations, we ask for your agreement. If you don’t agree, the current terms keep applying until either of us ends the contract.
Law and courts
- German law applies. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
- If you’re a merchant, the courts responsible for our address have jurisdiction.
- These terms are written in English.
App stores
If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s standard license for it (the Licensed Application End User License Agreement) applies too. Apple isn’t a party to these terms and isn’t responsible for Norva or its content.
For coaches
If you coach on Norva, these points apply as well:
- Use your athletes’ data only to coach them, and keep it confidential.
- If you take data out of Norva, into notes, a spreadsheet or another app, you’re responsible for handling it under data protection law.
- Upload only programs and other content you have the rights to.
- You’re responsible for your athletes: your programming, your qualifications and insurance, the rules of your profession, and any agreement or payment between you and them.
- Check every draft that Paste from notes makes before you publish it.
